       for a healthier Barbados

Let’s walk or run to make a difference in our lives and the lives of our family, friends and neighbours!

Our continued focus for the Nation Funathlon is to promote healthy activities, raise funds for worthy causes in Barbados and celebrate the 46th anniversary of the Nation Newspapers.

With the growing number of health cases and deaths linked to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), the Nation Publishing Co. Ltd is continuing its commitment to promoting healthy living with this year's annual charity 5K Walk & Run.

The Nation Funathlon is the Company’s largest charitable community event. Proceeds from the annual Walk & Run are donated to charities or organisations that support communities across the island through a variety of programmes and services.

This year, we lend our support to:

  • The Diabetes Association of Barbados

  • The Barbados Diabetes Foundation

Event Date: Sunday, November 17, 2019

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, the Nation Funathlon, held under the theme

GO FURTHER FOR A HEALTHIER BARBADOS, will take the form of a charity 5 kilometer Walk & Run. The aim of this charity event is to drive awareness of the need for Barbadians and the general public to practice and engage in activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Under this theme, the 2019 Nation Funathlon will focus on encouraging persons to build strong and long lasting communities by supporting causes and programmes that help contribute a healthier Barbados.

This exciting longstanding event caters to the young and young at heart; and embraces professional athletes as well as the casual walker and runner.

Widely known as the oldest and most anticipated of the Nation’s events, The Nation Fun Walk & Run attracts a large and diverse audience of participants and spectators, both locals and visitors. Your support helps raise money for organisations and registered charities focused on assisting the country in developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
