Sol is once again sponsoring the Nation’s Funathlon, continuing a successful partnership that promotes the Go Further for a Healthier Barbados initiative, as another avenue for Sol to give back to the community.
In 2018, Sol also embarked on a mission to raise $100,000 for the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at the QEH, and Barbadians rose to the challenge! The campaign, which saw Sol donating a portion of the proceeds from each gallon of Sol Go Further Infinity Fuels purchased, raised $112,707.35 for the A&E Department. The funds raised were used to purchase patient tracking software, transport monitors and other vital supplies, which are important to the hospital’s daily operations, patient safety, and service efficiency.
This year, as The Nation prepares for the Funathlon, Sol is excited to launch the second instalment of the Sol $100K Challenge. “We’re excited to have this fundraising initiative” explained Karoline Smith, Retail Formats & Promotions Manager, of Sol (Barbados) Ltd, “as we are always looking for ways to continue to serve our communities. Barbados, thank you for your support!”
Mario Greene, Marketing Promotions Manager, added: “We at Sol recognise and support the immense work of the QEH, the island’s primary health care facility, and its teams of professionals, who care for Barbadians from every walk of life and social strata.”
